What can I eat with braces?

Be sure to avoid chewy, crunchy, sticky, or hard foods!

What can I do if my teeth feel sore?

Answer

To relieve any soreness dissolve one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of lukewarm water. Swish and gargle this solution in your mouth for just a couple of minutes (do not swallow the saltwater). If the pain is more severe you can also try taking a pain reliever.

What do I do if a band or wire comes loose?

Answer

Contact us as soon as possible so that we can repair your appliance. If any piece of your appliance comes off, be sure to save it and bring it to the office with you. You can use wax to secure any pieces that may be poking you.

Can I still play sports with braces?

Answer

You can still play sports even while in orthodontic treatment! We recommend you wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth and your appliance. You will need a special mouthguard while in treatment, ask us about them at your next visit!
